The quality of the rugby and rowing set us apart as a school. To be the only state school at Henley is a great achievement and not to be repeated would be a shame.

It's too important too lose. Boys of this age need a balance between physical activities and more cerebral pursuits. The rowing club is a fantastic outlet for them, and needs to kept as part of the curriculum.

To close LOSBC would be a tragedy: at a time when huge efforts are being made to expand rowing into more state schools, to shut down one of the most successful state schools boat clubs in the country is shameful. As costs can be radically cut through partnership with Fulham Reach Boat Club, one wonders whether the agenda is about something other than money.

I race against London Oratory school in races such as National schools regatta. They are great competitors and good fun to have around.

I raced Oratory at HRR in 2007. It'd be a shame to see such a good programme fail when funding is available.

Please keep the rowing activities going. It serves as important part of our boys development.

Rowing is such a wonderful sport. It gives so much in the way of fitness, friendship, discipline, time management. I could go on. Everything I've read on the subject of schooling and rowing suggests rowers get better than average grades. Please reconsider.

A short-sighted decision. Rowing offers pupils so much more than just 'exercise': a chance to learn team-work, discipline, communication, competitive ethos, to build friendship groups, and how to both win & lose with equanimity & grace.

Well worth supporting all rowers particularly at school level.

neither of my boys row..something to do with them being introduced to the sport in January..but that is besides the point..its an important offering and brings prestige to the school as a whole. Please keep it.

I would be gutted to see the rowing club cease. Such a valuable opportunity for our boys to learn through a great sport.

Please don't leave rowing the preserve of the fee paying sector. LOS punch above their weight. Let them continue.

It would be a great shame if this opportunity for the boys is going to be lost. I have no idea whether my son John-Daniel will do it but for him and the others please allow them the chance to try

This is a win-win option for the governors and I urge them to take it. (RQ, rowing correspondent, Daily Telegraph)

I think the school governors should seriously reconsider their decision to abandon the curriculum rowing for the 2017/18 academic year seeing as the boys have promoted the school in such a successful way with their achievement's this year
