If CUBC can broaden its influence and appeal in the world of schoolboy rowing, whatever the background may be (it's irrelevant), that gets my vote.

If the school cannot support the boat club it is understandable if the boat club cannot continue. However, if parents, teachers and others can fund it's survival it would be a terrible shame for the govenors to not support them.

One day i would love to do rowing just like my brother, it would be a shame if i did not get that chance.

The school has a great tradition in the sport of rowing. Stopping the programme when there is sufficient support to keep it running is short sighted.

Why should state school boys be denied this opportunity ?

If potentially great rowers don't start at secondary school, they have minimal chance of catching up at university with those who rowed at school. It is a great sport creating real team spirit because if a team member doesn't "pull their weight" it shows immediately.

I went to Great Marlow Secondary School - a small state school with a rowing club and a fantastic English teacher who also happened to captain at Marlow Rowing Club. If it hadn't existed the Sir Steve Redgrave would not have been discovered!! It's vital to make this sport inclusive - it's not just for the privately educated!!!

My son is in Y9 and was looking forward to doing rowing this summer term. Much to his disappointment he couldn't.
Please rethink, we as parents can contribute towards the expenses to keep
The boat house.

As an ex-pupil I would say that this valuable club gives children from a range of backgrounds the opportunity to enjoy a sport that is considered to be a domain of the elite. It is really important that opportunities like this aren't taken away, particularly if they can be funded in ways other than through the school budget

Please give these children the chance they deserve, support them with positivity show them that they can do things despite adversity. That's what education is about.

In view of the increasing popularity and status of rowing in the country to abolish this club would be a retrograde step.

Loosing Rowing at a school like LOS in London would be a terrible loss and a step towards further sports being struck off the curriculum, it's simply not acceptable and something must be done.
The rowing must go on
