Rowing is a wonderful form of physical activity and should not be the exclusive preserve of the privileged. Not to mention that this team's performance is a great source of pride to the school. As a Public Health specialist I find it particularly sad when schools cut such programmes - they promote mental well-being too, and improve academic performance. Mens sana in corpore sano!

The removal of any format of team building and it's values in education frightens me.
Look how well team GB have done in recent years - this is purely down to the hard work put in by clubs like this.

This would be a disgrace and a huge shame. Public/Private schools dominate in these areas. We should be fighting to give state school kids these same opportunities. Please re-think this one. We need these gaps to narrow, not widen.

Closure of the rowing Programme would be a shortsighted strategic error.

It would be a tragedy if one of the few state schools which offer rowing were to withdraw it. I congratulate the Support Group on raising the funds to cover the cost and hope that the Governors will think again.

Please save LOSBC - rowing is a great sport, and should be for all, not just wealthy private schools
