It is this sort of activity that helps build teamwork as well as showing that hard work pays off and helps develop the whole individual. If such activities are cut, the long term effect does not bear thinking about

It is a wonderful opportunity for those children & if the funding can be raised then why not allow them to continue. Our son will be starting at LOS in September.

My cousin's son rows for this club and it would be such a shame for pupils like him to lose this opportunity

As a mum of one of the year five rowers I just want to express my sadness and disappointment at the decision to close the LOSBC. It has been an amazing journey for my son and one which has totally enriched his school experience on so many levels including friendships, fitness and aspirations. This is more than just rowing and it would be a travesty to close the club after the years of commitment given by the boys and coaches.

Quite incredible that the government wants to fund a high speed rail link project to the tune of £Billions (that'll be redundant before it even completes). Yet they want to severely cut educational funding. What's more important? Beyond belief!

We used to row at Putney at the same time as them when I was at Lady Margaret. Such a great sport, and fabulous opportunity for pupils. More schools should be able to offer this opportunity.
Short term thinking doesn't serve community.
