"The (London Oratory) school aims to assist their children in accordance with the principles and teachings of the Church; to do this within an environment which will encourage and support the spiritual, PHYSICAL, moral and intellectual development of the child...(whilst providing) a wide and rich range of experiences which will encourage children to discover and develop their potential to its maximum and to strive for high standards of excellence in all activities." As an ex-rower I can attest to the tremendous experience this sport can offer. Mind...BODY...and soul.

Don't see education through a narrow lens, embrace the outdoors, team building a healthy lifestyle and a drive to be the best.

So few state schools offering rowing - those that do should be given every possible support

Fulham has a tradition of river sport. Shame to loose it.

If 12 months funding is in place, there is no valid reason not to use it. All sport for all kids.

This should not be cancelled. The efforts of both the rowers and the support group deserve the continued opportunity

It is vitally important that children have an opportunity to experience and participate in all sports.

Don't let them sell the boats that really belong to the boat club in order to fill the school's other finance shortfalls

This would be at a serious cost to the prospects and opportunities of a generation of students!

As a parent of two pupils at LOS, one who plays rugby and one who does not I feel that this is a fundamentally retrograde move. The closure of the rowing programme will make my non rugby playing son's connection with and experience of the school entirely diminished. Very sad for current and future generations if we cannot overturn this decision.

I would like to see rowing continue as one of the sporting options for the boys. If necessary current spending on rugby could be reallocated.

It would be a step backwards - i so hope more young people from all backgrounds get to benefit from this amazing sport
