This would be just be unacceptable to remove these trees! I am from Mississippi and my sister lives on this highway and I am in awe of them ever time I visit.

Yes I agree these trees have NEVER harmed anyone or anything!!! Other things could be done by DOTD rather than cut down trees that have been there for forever!!!

I drive under those oaks everyday, several times a day. My home is less than half a mile past those trees. It's a welcome home feeling I get daily driving under those trees. Please DO NOT cut down the trees.

"...trees are a safety hazard ". They should really stay on the side of the road and stop jumping out in front of cars.

Signing a petition is a good start. However, to save the trees, they will probably need some type of protective legal status. We might want to try getting in touch with the "Live Oak Society" which registers Live Oak trees. http://www.lgcfinc.org/live-oak-society.html
