Finding This pool and doing lap swimming made me happy again for the first time in decades. I have numerous injuries including spinal cord damage which restrict me from most exercise. There is something about exercising outdoors in the fresh air. The indoor pool air is stagnant and heavily chlorinated. You just don’t feel as good as when you're breathing fresh outdoor air.
Its not an exaggeration to say I feel devastated by this news. This was the thing I’ve been looking forward to all winter. I’m at a total loss and I can feel the depression coming back.
Pickleball is a trendy game that isn’t going to be near as popular in a few years. What a shortsighted decision.

I have been a member of the Y for over 40 years and strongly object to closing the pool for a few that would play pickle ball . There are many families that use that pool in the summer!

We have been disappointed that the pool has been closed for so long, just at the age my son can ride his bike up to the pool & enjoy the afternoon with friends on a hot day. Perfect spot for young teens who can be responsible & have safe outdoor fun. This Y is surrounded by neighborhoods & many families enjoy being able to have a short drive/ walk/or bike up to the outdoor pool. I’m a pickle all fan & the indoor gym works fine for that, along with many available surrounding outdoor courts in the area.

I live directly across from the YMCA and strongly object to having the pool replaced with noisy pickle ball courts.

If the Y is advertising that they are here to SERVE the community, then they must SERVE the community, not tear it apart!

This is particularly bad for the neighbors to hear the pickle ball noise. They have not been a good neighbor.

For the reasons so eloquently stated in this petition and the comments, closing the outdoor pool at the Lionville YMCA would be a huge mistake, a detriment to the community and a stain on the reputation of our association. Please rethink this horrible decision!

Please keep the outside pool at the Lionville Y. It’s a wonderful opportunity for kids and families to swim there. There aren’t many, if any, other pools that are not Country Clubs for families to join.

Keep the pool. It is a more affordable option and it is a great pool for the kids and their families. Don't get rid of it because of laziness to keep it up. Pickleball can be put somewhere else.
