This place means so much to my nephew and friends. Please find another venue for them to meet to replace it.

I find it hard to understand why this very worthwhile cause is facing closure after so many successful years! Russ and his team help and support these young people in so many different ways. Give them the chance to believe in themselves , to achieve their worth, have people believe in them, help them on their life's journey. If this is taken away from them where will they go ... What will they do... Who will believe in them ... Surely a youth project that is so successful needs to be acknowledged rather than destroyed!

The lighthouse is such an important youth project that has to be allowed to continue in the town centre. Over the years I have been so proud of the achievements of the young people I have had the pleasure to work with. I am moved by the fact that many of them are commenting on here. Thank you all.

The Lighthouse has been fundamental in the well being and development of confidence in my daughter during her teenage years. It gave her amazing opportunities,, skills and great friendships and positive adult role models. I am grateful beyond for what it has done for her and am incredibly sad that despite the ongoing desire from many that it continues, a lack of a suitable venue is preventing this. Please support the Lighthouse to find a new home so it can continue to support our young people.

The lighthouse gave me a great place to develop my interest in music and without it I probably would not have studied music at university or gone onto teacher training as a music teacher

The lighthouse was a key part throughout my bands development when we were young. It provided much needed support both musically and mentally to all those involved. For Christchurch to loose this asset would be highly detrimental to this generation and for the many more generations to come. It is so much more than a place to practice music. It enabled people to meet and converse, seek help if needed and place for them to feel safe. For BCP to force eviction without finding a replacement building is a complete oversight of a valuable and much needed resource for the community.

Very disappointing to here that this great facility is losing its home! More needs to be done to support project like these. Russ and his team have been a fantastic support to my son and their up and coming band! Without people like them young people are missing out on great opportunities. More and more youth projects are disappearing due to lack of funding, local government need to invest in our future generations.

The Lighthouse plays an integral part in helping the young people of Christchurch not only have somewhere to go but to learn and nurture any talent they may have. 22 youth clubs closed at the same time but the Lighthouse was able to hold on and needs to continue to do so. It has become painfully obvious that problems of antisocial behaviour by youth has risen sharply. Give them their eights of places or call there own with trained leaders who can be there for them whatever the need. We are doing our youth a disservice.

The Lighthouse provided me with a safe haven to practice my music with my peers. I believe it is the last place in christchurch to accommodate young people, often vulnerable. It’s disgusting that we should be made the fight for something we should be so proud of.

Provision of facilities for youth run by volunteers are vital for a healthy community to help youths to follow creative pursuits which will be of great value to them for the rest of their lives.

We need the youth clubs open with paid, trained youth workers. This shouldn't be questioned, it's a necessity in every community.
