This is very short sighted for the town to lose / close this youth service that is a vital need to those that use it now and have used it in the past.

This youth club is one of the few still available to young people since all youth clubs were closdd across dorset. It is staffed by hard working volunteers, many trained as youth workers and vastly over qualified, yet passionate about providing a space for young people in christchurch to be safe, build respectful relationships, self esteem and get advice and guidance. Without the youth centre youth crime will rise, anti social behaviour will increase and youth pregnancy will rise. Please find a suitable building for this vital resource to the community to continue.

The lighthouse provided a safe and caring environment for me and my band and does the same for so many people in the local area, losing an organisation like this would be a great sadness.

If the government want to reduce knife crime in young people then you need to nuture the opportunity to express themselves in a non-educational setting run by dedicated role models.

I loved going to the lighthouse and has such a good support system for kids! Music got me through so much as a teenager!

It was agreed by the council to rent the provision to the learning Centre and for the learning Centre to allow a restricted youth provision. At a very difficult time for young people this provision has been taken away and promises broken. All schools, colleges, learning centres should lend their buildings to support all young people with their development. Why has this right been removed?

To lose a venue such as The Lighthouse would be so incredibly detrimental to the local young people. I cannot begin to express how grateful I am to have been a part of The Lighthouse, and how much it has positively impacted my life. Youth services such as this are so important to give young people a safe place to express themselves and flourish.

I spent my teenage years at the lighthouse playing music and learning about music production from Russ. Now I am at university studying music. Without this valuable service to the community I would not be doing what I am today.

As a senior member and volunteer, I have seen first hand the impact that The Lighthouse Youth Club has had on the young people of Christchurch. I implore B.C.P. council to find a suitable venue for us to relocate to, and help save our youth project!
