Not only has my 5-year old learned some life saving swimming skills, but so have other parents’ children we know. In addition, we personally know a young man from Vero who is currently attending Tufts University on a swim scholarship. He got his start at Leisure Square. There may be others I’m not aware of.

The pool needs to remain open for the public to use who don’t want to drive to north county or the Gifford pools & the swim teams use it

Public pools serve a diverse array of residents, young and old, but seniors are unlikely to make use of a skate park. Consider the demographics of Vero's citizens, present and future, and the likelihood of hotter summers to come - an accessible pool could help retain residents.

The pool has been a vital part of this community for many years and should be kept available to the may residents who use it. My family has used this pool since it belonged to the YMCA.

VBHS swim team practices in this pool. Special needs children have physical therapy in this pool. 12 weeks of summer camp children enjoy this pool. The number of people impacted by closing this pool, far outnumbers those who are able to participate in a skate park. The math is not there! Fix the Leisure Square Pool- do not close it!

The pool should not close! The retired people of this county use it daily. If necessary , there are other ways to fund the pool. Memberships, donations, I’m sure there is someone who knows how to keep a city pool open and funded and kept safe. A skate park should be built on the dormant land the city owns. Get people together to build up the funds for the younger kids. But how many of them will skate anywhere there is supervision?

Enjoy the pool tremendously and the quiet surroundings. I for one would pay more to keep it open. Knowing the neighborhood, it would be a shame to put in a noisy skate park not to mention the traffic it will create.

C'mon guys. My 93 year old mom swam here for rehab 20 years ago. It was a godsend. For her!
