It’s important to have public swimming pools available for the community, especially in a town so close to the beach. Having access to safe places to learn to swim and practice swimming at all ages will keep ourselves and our neighbors safer when we venture out into the ocean.

Access to a pool is a must-have in the state of Florida and provides many health benefits to people of all ages. Not every community has pool access. Please preserve the pool for the residents of Vero Beach!

I think that it is a horrible idea to get rid of a community pool with temperatures hovering 90 degrees most of the summer. Many homes in Vero Beach do not have there own pools. The pool serves all age groups while a skate park serves a very limited age group. why not build the skate park at the high school where the majority of that age group would be patrons. I am a tax payer and have seen city council make bad moves at every turn..remember the Dodgers leaving and with them all the money they spent around this town for many years. Keeping a pool makes more sense and serves more of our taxpaying population than a skate park will. If any thing it should be the taxpayers decision through a referendum not some group that secretly got together and raised funds which incredibly the council has offered to match.

This is the only public pool in vero, I’ve almost never been on a day that it was empty and closing it would be quite a shame

I swim at least three times a week at Leisure SQ. This pool is a very important part of my cardio health program.

This pool is a valuable asset in our community. We could never replace it for what it costs to keep it.

The pool serves all ages in our community. A skate park is great for a limited number of ages, but should not come at the expense of the pool.

Clearly, the majority of residents want to keep the pool. It is the responsibility of the council to do what the people want, not to follow some of their own personal agendas.

Disgraceful for the council to close such a valuable resource for this town, which benefits so many different groups of people. Very elitist attitude. Recreational facilities are not supposed to be cash cows - they are for the health, well-being & enjoyment of the residents.
