My son attends Lab and loves the pool - both during PE and after care. The pool is an invaluable asset that provides physical, emotional, and social benefits to all who use it.

As an SDS swimmer currently swimming at this pool, I'd like to say: Yeah no. Great pool, don't want to see it shut down any time in the near future.

My sons are apart of a great swim program at Lab School. This is a valuable resource that enhances the development of students, community members, and local clubs. Please reconsider and keep the pool open!

Sally Smith thought the pool was an important addition to the Lab School. I believed in Sally's wisdom then and I believe it lives on now.

The pool is an important part of the Lab curriculum. One that made an enormous difference in my child confidence and endurance. He loves theater as well and needs the new theater to enhance the performance art part of the curriculum. Both are necessary to complete a full well rounded education!!

I would pay a fee to use this gorgeous pool. St. Alban's fee is $100 for dinky old pool.

The pool at Lab is a tremendous resource -- and one of the reasons we chose to attend the high school. Lab should not need to undercut sports to boost the arts!

Both of my children swam for Sea Devils and for the MVP Dolphins. I have swum there many times as a community member. Though we are also great supporters of theater, we love swimming! Swimming is such an important sport for children with learning differences and with sensory integration issues. Swimming has made an enormous difference for many children with these issues on my children's swim teams. Please keep the wonderful Lab School Pool!!!

Swimming is a proven therapy for children with learning disabilities. The Lab School campus has no playing fields and it is hard to imagine how destroying this invaluable asset to build a second campus theater is even in the best interest of Lab School students. A magnificent theater is nearly completed at DCPS Duke Ellington less than a mile up the very same road. If Lab's motivation is an enthusiastic donor or donors who have restricted funds to theatrical pursuits would it not make more sense to have that donor give to Duke Ellington and ensure that Lab has reciprocity? Such a magnificent gift would benefit the community and Lab and would solidify the donor/donors legacy. p.s. Many of Duke Ellington's students have not been successful in traditional classrooms either.

I grew up swimming at Lab and my family continues to use the pool for our physical fitness. Lab is also one of the training facilities for a local, DC-based swim team that has taught countless members of the community to swim, which is an important life skill.

Lab School pool is a beautiful facility and access to the community should not be discontinued. It is well maintained, clean, and well kept. All of my three children learned to swim through swimming lessons there and it is a important asset to the community. I swim there three times a week and it is an important part of my physical fitness and health.

As a life long swimmer, a father of two swimmers, a father of a son who finds being in the water therapeutic, and a citizen of the DC area I think the pool at Lab is an invaluable resource to Lab School students and the local community.
