According to the current DRI, the golf course is to consist of 150 acres. Since the original DRI dated December 3, 1975, there has been at least 16 amendments to the original ordinance. I think, since it is already in the DRI the golf course should be finished first before any other amendments be made. Also where is the 400 room hotel that the DRI approved? Originally it was 200 rooms but was increased. Once upon a time there was a 100 acre recreational lake, gone now. Turn the association over to the residents instead of making KCG3 and other residential homes in currently zoned commercial use only so we are kept under the thumb of the developer. I will not sign this petition.

Develop the course. Develop Homestead.
There are very few places in the USA that are more difficult to get things out of the ground than in Miami-Dade. We should lower the barriers to people investing in our town, not raise them.
We cannot want better jobs, increasing home values, better wages, and a higher quality of living if we choke out projects that bring those things.
We get what we reward. If we reward development, we'll get more of it. If we are punitive to developers, we'll get less development. There is nothing noble about being against developers. They aren't boogeymen. They have a profit motive. There is nothing wrong with that. We just have to determine if Homestead is going to be the kind of place from which businesspeople can make a profit. If they can't, they won't do business here.
There are consequences for restricting business/development. If we restrict business, we will not create the kind of population base that supports attracting larger employers. If we don't have larger employers, we want have increasing compensation for our population.
How many more projects do we want to give away to other municipalities? Homestead is an incredible community. Let's be the kind of community that can get things done. It's in our DNA. We're gritty. We hustle. We're smart. Let's put all the ingredients together and say yes to this kind of thing.

I worked for Keys gate golf and country club for over 20 years my kids and grandkids grew up playing golf their its in the best interest of the city to support this project . Yes get it done

Keep our neighborhood attractive and clean with the golf course! Building more cookie cutter houses and letting in more low income residents is doing nothing to better Homestead!!! More houses, more pollution all around. We all see what lives next to Homestead High School and in some Keys Gate developments, we don't need it migrating further into the nicer Keys Gate areas. Have some common sense people!!!
