Terrible project. If you want to build housing at this location do the following:
Build taller and add many more units
Make it mixed-income not just low-income
Add commercial to the first floor to increase foot traffic
Keep the park by eliminating the parking altogether and requiring the developer to reserve spots at the recently approved 1,500 space gargantuan parking lot approved for the $1 billion Yale Neuro Science project.

My daughters attend outdoor church in this space. It serves important functions in this city and neighborhood! How can you think of getting rid of greenspace in the midst of a pandemic where gathering outside is the only safe form of sociality?

Please leave this park! A park is an opportunity for shade, for pause, for play, for gathering, and for trees that we know enhance air quality and keep cities cooler. We KNOW green spaces are about public health and environmental justice. Let's be the city we sometimes can only claim to be.

Leave this playground and open space for folks in this neighborhood to enjoy and utilize. The reason this public space is being commodified without hearing from folks who are impacted is clearly because working class Black folks live there. The demolition of a green space to build a parking lot and likely unaffordable housing without community input would not happen in East Rock or Westville. Do better

The park is a lovely, and necessary place, that needs to be preserved and enhanced, not destroyed.
