I'm a social worker in early childhood education in New Haven and am shocked that a play space with grass trees and sky might be paved and built upon. We cannot replace such an oasis which gives health to children and families in the dense urban air. Please consider more carefully the benefits of keeping this space green and the costs to children and families of losing it - More grief we do not need!

It is suffocating to have to fight for the basic human respect in modest neighborhoods. The larger issue is many years of slum landlords profiting so much and giving back so little. The city has neglected this park unnecessarily. Thanks to Pat and team. I hope the Parks Commissioners would come to the Park.

The City needs to stop and provide notice to everyone. Outrageous.

Kid in the Park, by Langston Hughes Lonely little question mark on a bench in the park: See the people passing by? See the airplanes in the sky? See the birds flying home before dark? Home’s just around the corner there– but not really anywhere. –The Collected Poems of Langston Hughes

Why would the City take away a park from children to allow for a paved structure! That is awful!
