We are concerned about our native wildlife & our local people from indiscriminate aerial1080 poisoning drops. Please stop it now & use other methods.

Spreading the poison 1080 around is not the way to get rid of predators.The Kea is a naturaly inquisative bird and contary to propoganda will eat most things that is in its sight

It is beyond belief that Doc Are prepared to kill more adult kea, there are less kea in NZ than there are kiwi and kea do not breed every year - killing adults is very harmful to the long term survival of any population, see Graeme Elliots video in full and you will hear that there

The widespread use of 1080 is a barbaric action. Not only detrimental to pest and native animal species is is potentially destroying our clean green image along with toxifying our land and waterways

I understand we have a major issue with pests in our forests but is putting our native birds and animals worth the risk. I know it it because of these animals and birds that you are doing the 1080 drops so it is a difficult decision either way, it is not a win win situation.

The NZ govt killed 150,000 kea through the bounty system on these amazing parrots. Now it is 1080 that is decimating the remaining population. The young take 6 years to breed. Killing even one of the adults has a severe effect on populaton. In my neighbourhood, a 1080 drop is pending in conditions highly simiilar to North Okarito (tracks and open skid sites) where 77% of monitored kea were killed. There are presently a health group of 6 to 11 kea in this area. What will be left if the drop goes through?
