Japanese is a great class! I don’t understand why they would take away the Japanese language from this school, in fact one of the only reasons I came to DV was BECAUSE of the Japanese class, in there we learn about not just the language, but the culture itself. It’s one of the classes I look forward to every day! Give this class one more chance!

Don’t take away the Japanese class! It’s not fair for the students who originally signed up for the class. They have a right to finish this language in highschool.

The Japanese program is a unique experience that you can not get in many places across the country, and closing it will remove that choice the students at DVHS have! Please keep the Japanese program

At a minimum, DVHS should provide for current Japanese 1 student the opportunity to achieve fluency while winding down the program starting with Japanese 1 next year. For students interesting in the UC system, they would have to switch languages to achieve the recommended 3 Years. Otherwise they will be at a disadvantage.

The Japanese program is a valuable part of deer valley Highschool. The students were uninformed that they would be unable to complete the 3 recommended years.

Japanese has been one of my favorite classes to be in throughout my time at Deer Valley. I want others to be able to have a chance to experience the fun I had learning Japanese as well. The fact that DV had the gall to cite a lack of interest as a reason to axe the Japanese program (despite there being interest from students even outside of DV), and not tell Mr. Wilson until AFTER Japanese was taken off the course select sheets sickens me.

In my highschool, there were only 2 languages to choose from and those were Spanish and French. An opportunity to learn Japanese & Japanese culture in high school for the incoming students should be an honor considering the fact that Japan has risen to popularity these past years.
Save the program!
