Japanese is what makes me feel like me. Ever since I found anime and learned about the Japanese culture I’ve been super interested in it. I talk about it and talk in the language so many times. Japanese makes me feel like I can be and show my creative side. Not only that but I can learn different things from this and maybe go to college with this career. #savetheJapaneseProgram

The fact that they claim they want to give the class a chance, while leaving it off of the course selection forms is absolutely appalling, and only makes the administrators come across as two-faced. How can we claim we promote and embody diversity when the administrators intend on cutting one of the most diverse classes here without even giving it a fighting chance? This is absolutely ridiculous, and goes against everything Deer Valley stands for.

The Japanese class is kind of like a family here at Deer Valley. The students become close friends and we all enjoy the class together--a rarity at any high school.

The only public high school in Contra Costa County to offer the Japanese Language Program. There is no diversity if this happens.
