The scale of the rotary and the existing island provide TRAFFIC CALMING measures. The proposals will do the opposite. What we need is calm...not more opportunities to move quickly through our village!!!

The selectmen ought to monitor DPW and the state projects to prevent ugliness and disruptive delays (such as in the clunky and endless installation of new rail overpasses in OG) -- and now this ill conceived, poorly presented plan. Enough!

This massive operation would no doubt encourage speeding. Drivers already drive too fast, often while texting. Give them a reason to watch the road by maintaining the islands and trees. Drivers will respond automatically and heed to the pedestrians' rights.

Project 12-17 is a very expensive, inappropriate and unnecessary project that will cost the town loss of open space and wildlife habitat and a dent in the DPW budget. Keep the money in the budget--dump this over sized, over engineered and manipulated plan.....err on the side of Conservation, please!

Every aspect of this project is so unnecessary and a complete waste of money, time and resources. I drive in this area at least 6-8 times a day, and while there is congestion at rush hour, traffic still flows smoothly. Do not make any changes to ruin this beautiful part of town. Listen to the concerned citizens of OG!

I live here and walk these streets every day so I am glad something is finally being done. The Perrot rotary is dangerous and so is the Sound Beach/Forest intersection. However the scale of the new rotary is completely out of proportion, and removing the island at Forest would make the problem worse, not better. I am glad that people are looking at this, and hope that the changes that are made will enhance the public safety, solve rather than create problems, and be in keeping with the character of the town.

I moved to OG in 1945 Sure, traffic has increased since then but in no way does it justify the proposed modifications. I think the proposal should be withdrawn.

I drive through this stretch of road perhaps 10 to 12 times a week. The intersections are odd, but not challenging enough to require the massive rebuilding that I see proposed here. I would much prefer they be left as is.

I use this intersection 3 times a week. The present configuration is optimal from a traffic-flow standpoint in that traffic on Forest is divided such that traffic turning left onto Sound Beach does not hold up traffic turning right. Similarly, traffic on Sound Beach turning onto Forest only need to make easy half turns onto Forest and also with two exits onto Forest there is less congestion.
A T would have the opposite effect.

Impatience and distraction is the problem. Put down the phone take a deep breathe and the intersection becomes just another intersection. Always be alert we are driving deadly weapons and respect for each other on the road is what is needed not more destruction of the already stressed ecosystem.
