If the traditions that make Virginia Tech football fun and unique are eliminated, I don't see much reason to spend money on tickets instead of getting the same, cookie cutter football experience on TV.

How can you do away with a time honored tradition that brings the Hokie Family together?

To remove the Hokie Pokey would be a tragedy. Playing the Hokie Pokey certainly does not make us 'weaker'. Shame on the person who suggested it!

We do not need the chant for EVERY game. In high tension situations it would be helpful to create a lovely atmosphere but not needed at every game. The Hokie Pokie is something that even young kids can participate in.

I attend VT games specifically to see the Marching Virginians. Athletic Department marketing folks need to understand that it is the TOTAL EXPERIENCE: the band, cheerleaders, dance team, the Lane Stadium atmosphere, along with the football game which constitute the draw for fans. Eliminating a long-standing and unique tradition for some vague "tougher" presentation is shortsighted. This would be akin to eliminating the dot on script OHIO or cutting the block M at Michigan. You should cherish unique traditions such as the Hokie-Pokie instead of condeming them.

Please change this back! It made the games special. The Let's go Hokies chant is done all thru the game!
Don't mess with it. Everyone loves it.
