Why would they change this!?!? It's a little corny quirk thats part of our home tradition. They even invite members from the opposing band and cadet corp to join on the field!! I'm not mad just disappointed that we would so carelessly through away this tradition. We can't sing some of our other fight songs anymore and there have been years where there were no Thursday night games in Blacksburgbut instead on Friday night. That's an atrocity in itself and they want to take away another small tradition like this!?!? Why not consult with the fan base first then make your decision? I will always be a Hokie but this does make me sad..... Class of 14

Kids love it, fans love it and even the older generation loves it. Have not yet heard a solid valid reason for getting rid of it. It has been a main stay for years. When I was there in school in the mid 90's and up to present day, there is not anyone sitting when it's played. It's like the 7th inning stretch in baseball, it just feels right! GO HOKIES! AND LET'S HOKIE POKIE!
