Our children love this museum and we visit it regularly each year. What it needs is more funding to allow more themed temporary exhibitions and learning sessions, not closure. How ridiculous the council are going to look if they go ahead with plans for closure in the run up to the City of Culture year.

Hands on History isn't Wayne's World! You have to do more than use the philosophy of 'build it and they will come' - more a case of 'advertise and market the facilities and they will then know it exists, and come'! Hands on History can be a success and self-sufficient with a bit of effort! Closure is just taking the easy option!

Ridiculous and pointless cost saving exercise. What a way to introduce ourselves as City of Culture!!! Bearing in mind also that one of the reasons we won the bid was due to the excellent free museum facilities in the city! Perhaps if they invested a little money in advertising and promoting the museums service the footfall would increase.

Museums are our children's heritage. our local councillors should not close museums, galleries, etc. We as adults have a duty to teach young people about our histories, our cultures our artists, etc. Places like this are a great way for children to start to explore these concepts and help form their own ideas. After all, we are but custodians of these places for our children's futures.

Although I have been living abroad since '97, my childhood memories are all about the musuems in my hometown. It pains me greatly that every year when I return so much has changed or been demolished.

This is not the time to be closing this museum, Hull City of Culture 2017. We were working like crazy on our cultural offerings long in advance! Best of luck petitioner from Derry, City of Culture 2014.

Hands-on museums are the only genuine resource for teaching children & adults with disabilities! The disabled community will have a significant loss if this museum closes down!
