This museum is lovely - a real treasure - it sholud not be closed. My children and many, many others have enjoyed hours of pleasure in here learning about how life was in years gone by. How can Hull profess to be a City of Culture when they are closing libraries and museums!!!

The Museum is a valuable resource which is a firm favourite in our family. When I go into Hull City Centre I find it depressing and I question why Hull has been picked as City of Culture when I visit the city's array of museums I am reminded of one of the reasons why.

It is absolutely disgraceful that this is happening. And to jump on the "2017" band waggon ... shame on the council!

Hull City Council turning off the light at the end of the tunnel and ensuring we move forward into 2017 in reverse.

One of the most significant buildings in the history of Hull-What's next, Wilberforce House? Please keep this museum open, children and adults alike get so much from it- It's a real feather in Hull's cap and to close it when we're 2017 City Of Culture is frankly, laughable & embarrassing.

If Hull want to be the City of Culture in 2017, closing museums is not the way to go. Museums are a good way of teaching and presentation the diversity of the city's history and history as a whole. History is part of our culture, it is part of who we are. I was very lucky as I have parents who realized how important history was and as a child took me too all the museums in Hull and several around the country and also some abroad. Like my dad, I adore history and I am currently in my third year studying BA History at the University of Hull. I appreciate our history and closing down museums will reduce the opportunites for the next generation to see history presented in a different form.

how about they discuss the value to the region and not just the cost for a change.

Don't close anything. Hull needs as many atractions as it can get atm.
