It's always a shame when a local museum is closed, doubly so when the city is about to get a culture award

Closure of a museum closes a door to learning.

Very concerned about the closure of any museum, but particularly one that provides such great information!

Just another example of Labour councillors meekly passing on ConDem cuts without a murmur.

It is disheartening to read about cuts and closures when were facing one of the most positive times as a City.

Museums are incredibly valuable to society. Hands on History needs to be protected for future generations to enjoy.

When a society starts to close Museums and Libraries then we are treading a very thin line. Outrageous.

Senseless of a city to close accessible Museums such as this if it wishes to fulfil it's remit for culture.

In a modern day with History and education been so so important, to close or think about closing a museum is stupidity at its very best

Absolutely disgusting that the "City of Culture" is happy to close this fantastic museum

One of older and more characterful buildings in Hull witha fascinating history. Closing this would be a great shame, particularly when the focus of Hull's rich culture is in the spotlight.

This is so wrong. What impression will it make to locals and visitors alike if this museum is not open when they want to visit.

I cannot believe that we cannot save this valuable resource, education is the key to long-term success in Hull and I fully support these valuable resources.

Shame on you Hull city council. History is what makes us who we are - lose it and you've lost your identity.

Sometimes you don't know you want a museum until you no longer have it. Or is this a back-door way to justify total closure?

A city of culture should not be closing museums!

A city that ignores its past has no future. The museum should be saved for the Wilberforce connection alone, but it's also one of the few places in UK where visitors can really feel 'inside' the Victorian era. Please, please reconsider.
