Hull cannot claim to be the City of Culture 2017 if it lets the closure of the Hands on History Museum go through. As always these cuts will hit those least able to access our cultural heritage the most.

Very disappointed to hear about this decision and very much hope that the Council will reconsider its position through an options analysis to explore ways of maintaining access to this important facility.

We understand times are difficult. Markets are difficult. But local Culture needs to be at the forefront of any local government fiscal scheme. They should go hand in hand with business/fiscal growth plans. Financial and corporate businesses should recognize the importance of place and the culture that defines that place. But if local government isn't backing their own cultural resources, who can expect business to do it either!? C'mon Hull, jump in for the right decision. Make it work.

It's crazy that anyone would want to close down such a fabulous resource. Culture and history are what makes us human and demonstrates all our great achievements. I heartily condemn the proposed closure of this museum and ask the citizens of hull and beyond to of the same.
