Come to Hull, enjoy our museums, the only city to offer this service free of charge, brilliant advert for the City of Culture,unless they're all closed by then! there are ways to keep these museums open and profitable without closing them. So frustrating!!

You cannot reconcile the closure of a valued museum with being a city of "culture". That is both short sighted and could easily be funded by perhaps less fireworks, PR and glamour.

How can a city be awarded the title and prestige of being designated City of Culture and then close or restrict entry to one of its cultural museums. This is exactly what they should be expanding and offering as an attraction to its own people and to visitors. Think of more ways to attract visitors and engage them in the Hands on History Museum, not close it as an open facility. Lateral and imaginative thinking could be what is needed.
