In so many ways, the stage is the heart of our school community. It's where we gather for so many celebrations! There has to be another solution.

Demolishing the stage to make room for storage is a short-sighted solution and surely one that will be regretted in the future...once it is too late to undo. The decision to demolish the stage appears to have been made very hastily (parents were first notified at the May PTO meeting), while the stage has been a part of our school for decades. The school deserves a solution better thought out than this!

This is a VERY short-sighted solution to a "storage problem" and I am very embarrassed of SPPS for even considering the demolition of this IMPORTANT feature of a beloved school. I am sure the custodian needs a desk somewhere, but even he would not agree with this proposal! Pls. leave the Groveland stage as it is, and apply these renovation funds toward a solution that does not impact our students and staff in such a negative manner.

The only reason I would be happy to hear the Groveland Stage is being demolished is if a larger one was being built! The stage not only adds to the charm of the school, but is the centerpiece of so many important Groveland events. There just has to be somewhere else where a storage closet, custodial office and the bins can be put. Please consider better options that won't impact the kids and the community so negatively!

Save the stage! It's an asset to our school and provides a great place for students to share their talents. The stage is an important part of Groveland. Please consider other options for storage.

Our stage is a significant asset to our school community. While I understand that budgets are limited, why is a significant and meaningful part of Groveland being gutted and remodeled while other schools, such as Horace Mann, are building additions to deal with their building space needs.

A stage is a gathering place. While I agree with others a solution is needed to accommodate staff, it would be wonderful to explore additional options so as to not lose this important part of the community.

This performance stage is home to so many happy memories for my family. I couldn't imagine seeing it go. Where else would the kids perform their Living Museam performances?!?? Save the stage!!!

Our kids deserve a physical environment at their school, beyond the classrooms at Groveland Park elementary, that allows for community gathering, artistic events and civic expression. We welcome an alternative plan / solution to solve the storage problem.

While I sympathize with the inconveniences it would cause our hard-working custodial and nutrition staff, I agree that building a shed would be less costly. The Groveland stage is a treasure. Please save it.

Come on --- really tear down a stage to make closets....Lets all hope we can smarter than this.
