Sounds like no community input into the situation. The wheel that squeaks the loudest gets oiled first. Keep up the fight in an orferly fashion and you will win.

Joe Nathan - Hopefully the SPPS school board, on hearing about this, will remind the facilities department about district priorities. While storage space is important, a stage that has and is being used for student presentations seems to be a much higher priority.

This decision seems to be a knee jerk solution to a problem. Other options need to be explored, and the community needs to be involved in the process. Certainly, there are anticipated empty classrooms next year. Perhaps that could be used, at least in the interim until a more permanent solution can be attained? I've heard "we don't want to give up a classroom because we will never get that classroom back." Well, if we demolish a stage... we're never going to get that back, either.

Are we really considering destroying a stage? A stage is used to develop and nurture expression and creativity. There has got to be another way to store equipment. How many garbage cans and brooms are there!? Please explore a better solution. Get creative!

I have a third grader at Groveland now, and have two other children that also went to Groveland. It would be a huge loss to the school to lose the stage and all of the functions it has served. It also represents so many new opportunities, yet to be realized. Please keep the stage!

Many of my family members have gone to Groveland and loved it. The idea of privileging trash and storage over a stage for artistic expression is beyond belief. Save the Stage!

Trash can be kept outside and we shouldn't remove student facing resources for operational office space and trash receptacles.

This seems insane. There has to be a better solution. This sends a terrible message to young people that the arts isn't a priority. So many great memories of the talent shows with Mr. Likeness and Mr. Lush. Save the Stage!!

As a former Groveland parent and Girl Scout leader, the stage was the scene for many meetings, creations, bridging ceremonies, and gatherings.
Please find another way to take care of the ordinary, so that the kids of Groveland can continue to make the extraordinary memories that are so unique to Groveland.

I remember singing and dancing on that stage as a student in the 80's. Please find an alternative plan for storage and save the stage.

I still remember performing lots of little plays and practice talent shows up on that stage when I went to Groveland. And ive always loved the stage giving the cafeteria a pleasant look and being an option for classes and grades to present different things. Ꮚ•ꈊ•Ꮚ
