I live in a community that cohabits with black bears just fine. I don't understand the need to kill. You just need to keep your trash inside or locked. Then they will go away. Relax! It's just a black bear. They are not interested in hurting humans. You work for fish and wildlife. You should know this.

Those bears shouldn't be killed just because they are there. If you think they are a danger to anyone then punish the public for getting to close. If a person is attacked then it's their own damn fault for getting close to a bear with cubs! At least try to relocate them before shooting... If people can relocate elephants or rhinos then it certainly shouldn't be a problem with bears...

Please reconsider the decision to kill these bears We have a resonsibility to be ethical and use commonn sense. The mother bear never attacked--she just wants a chance to keep her family safe.

The biologists are saying they can't relocate the bears because they will come back. I'm thinking: so what? Just keep darting and relocating every year, what's the harm in that? Can someone explain this to me?

please don't do it, they showed no sign of aggressive behaviour until they were surrounded by hundreds of people and cameras flashing at them - and even then, there was no aggression, just climbed a tree desperately trying to get away from the crowd of people!
