we can't just continue to kill everything that gets in our way. There must be other solutions.

I would have thought that people living in Alaska would be well-aware of wildlife issues and would take having bears in their neighborhood in stride. Shame on the media and shame on Fish and Wildlife for not policing this better and keeping people away from the bears before the mob arrived.

please don't kill the bears. fine the families that don't keep their garbage in lock down. i would not be happy if someone left their garbage out for my dog to get into and possibly eat broken glass which is life threatening. I lived in the bush 60 miles up the Unlalkleet River and we had bear problems at the camp. The bears ripped open a securely locked food cache and ate the camps supplies. We continued to lock up the cabin and even put the food on a roof of a building to keep the bears from it. Fish and Game came out and would let the bear be shot telling us to stick boards with nails sticking through at a kids camp to keep the bears out. I still to this day wonder about that advice. As soon as the camp was occupied with people the bear stayed away. i don't think it is appropriate to do mean things to animals. they lived here first. we are intelegent enough to figure out a better solution for cohabitation with animals and humans. we can't just kill them because they are wondering in the 'wrong' spots. Do we kill homeless people that dig in people's garbages too?

It would make more sense to "euthanize" the dumb humnans that caused the problem.

The bears do not need to be killed, maybe you should take a harder look at the actions of the humans. They are the ones who caused this.

In cases like this one, where human interaction with wild life has negative consequences the humans should be taught that what they are doing is wrong, not the wild life. This is awful.

The bears have only done what is in their nature. They should not be killed because STUPID HUMANS interfered.

I understand that it's dangerous, but /killing/ these bears because people screwed with them?.. At least re-locate them..Theres always another way.

Please don't kill them!! It's wrong, because it's humans fault... Let those beautiful animals live!

Humans are at fault for this situation, so humans should be held responsible in finding a better solution.

absolutely absurd and horribly cruel to give this beautiful family a death sentence because the humans are idiots!

The bears haven't done anything wrong, humans were the ones that pushed the boundaries, why are we killing these innocent bears???

killing a black bear, especially a Sow with her cubs, for reacting in a protective manner is like shooting your neighbor's wife because she yelled at a stranger. it's ridiculous and impractical.
