SAVE the GIEI District Coordinator Position

The DC position assists the NET’s a great deal in communication and support from the GIEI. We wouldn’t be as successful at our jobs without the DC. We owe our success and the smooth running of our program to the DC.

District coordinators have provided significant value on both a personal and professional basis.

GIEI does not relate with all issues natives go through. Coordinators are our voices when we are not heard.

Removing this position is a mistake and does not take into consideration the needs of foreign teachers who play a vital role in the English education of the Korean youth.

Removing this position will be detrimental to the success of EPIK teachers in Gangwon-do.

Coordinators are imperative for NET safety and well-being.

Coordinators are very important and helpful to all EPIK teachers as well as Korean co-teachers. It's common to hear important information from coordinators before Korean co-teachers even receive the information, and sometimes the Korean co-teachers might be too busy and forget to pass on the info.

This is a vitally important role and its frankly disappointing and disrespectful to not value the position and its link that potentially creates harmony within the link of command .

I feel that if this position is taken away, it would be harder for us to communicate when we have problems at schools. The coordinators help with these issues and taking away this position is, i feel, a mistake.

Removing this position will be detrimental to all teachers involved in the program. The Coordinator position provides important support to NETs and the entire program as a whole.

While NETs have a lot of perks living and working here, our voices, feelings, and situations are often ignored because we're foreigners. We have given up a lot to live and work here and actually do work hard, so to get rid of this coordinator position is very unfair to NETs. I hope the GIEI will be understanding, and reconsider this decision.

As a teacher in Gangwon-do, my coordinator has been vital in providing resources, key information, and Professional Development opportunities.

This position is vital to the health, safety, and community surrounding the teachers of Gangwondo and must be maintained.
