Removing this position might be cost effective in some way but only in the short term, if that. It's too important.

I think it serves the program in Gangwon Province to maintain the Coordinator positions. The province is significantly rural & that requires an intentional effort to help new & already placed EPIK teachers to adjust & adapt. Coordinators are a very important part to the social & professional adjustment of those placed in the province.

Let's make everyone happy with our decisions, shall we? We need positive changes to increase productivity, correct? Terminating these positions provides what kinds of benefits?

The coordinator is crucial. I can't see life as an EPIK teacher being healthier in any way without this role. Removing coordinators will harm teachers and their inclination to stay in Korea.

I have had the blessing of having a good active coordinator helping me and being an active coordinator who helps others. And I have seen GIEI fail to aid multiple teachers within my ditrict over the one year they have been operating. I fear the lack of district coordinators will leave people isolated and frustrsted with the POE and EPIK as a whole if there are not people they can go to talk to in times of need when their school and the system have ignored or failed to help them.

I feel that the coordinators play an integral role in school districts especially in the rural areas and should be considered as essential.

I’m super grateful for everything the coordinators do. They are essential to the wellbeing of native English teachers and are a great source of support for the English teaching community.
