We are a small group of concerned citizens who are trying to save a local landmark from being destroyed by Giant Eagle to build a gas and convenience store. The church and cemetery has stood in the neighborhood of Cumberland on Washington Street for over 100 years. The congregation that occupies the church is currently in the process of selling to Giant Eagle, but hasn't gotten zoning changed to commercial usage. The area is a highly busy intersection and there are already at least 5 gas station convenience stores within that area. We are asking the zoning board NOT to grant the change.
