I've been told that the iconic bronze sculptures "Four Seasons" designed for the famous 1937 Holland American Line ocean liner Nieuw Amsterdam, currently on board the Amsterdam, will not be kept by Holland America Line when the ship is sold.
The "Four Seasons" are an important piece of Holland America Line history! They are more than 80 years old and a vital link to Holland America Line's past.
The sculpture needs to be preserved and remain with Holland America Line.

I checked the count and we are just about to hit triple digits which is honestly wild since I started this on a whim because the thought of those bronzes just disappearing is driving me crazy. If you could blast this out on your social feeds right now while the momentum feels real maybe someone at corporate will finally actually see that we care about this history.

This old piece of artwork was originally on the Nieuw Amsterdam in 1938, was found again, purchased (again!) and placed on the Amsterdam during her build in 2000. This important piece of HAL history needs to remain with the line! Please save it!
What's especially sad is that all the effort to locate, obtain and re-imagine this work is now so carelessly disregarded. Shame on them if they don't keep this in HAL's archives.
One of my favorite things about my Amsterdam voyage was gazing up at this magnificent piece of art and marveling it had survived. How perfect it would be in the new Rotterdam!
This belongs on the Nieuw Amsterdam or should go to the Rotterdam V, in Rotterdam. Don’t sell out your history and reputation for these big ships. The next new builds should be midsized like Statendam/Zaandam/Rotterdam. We crave that experience. It’s what you do best.
If I remember correctly, when the family sold HAL to Carnival, there was an undertaking that the art work would always stay with the ships. I don't know what form that undertaking was in ie contract or mere promise, but I sincerely hope that this much-loved and beautiful piece stays in the HAL collection.

Please save the iconic bronz Four Season sculptures that have been such a part of HAL’s history since 1938 on the original SS Rotterdam. It would be a real shame for these pieces not to be saved. We realize you literally gave away the Amsterdam for bargain basement rates. At least save these pieces that mean nothing to Fred Olsen.
