Needlessly to destroy our past is to the detriment of both present and future generations. Surely some meaningful use for the building could be found.

Please do not allow the destruction of this beautiful building. St Austell has lost too many such buildings which contribute to the town's heritage and character. It does not need to be demolished and could be used for alternative purposes such as a community centre, youth or sports club, housing, offices........ if the school play yard is utilised for parking.

There is a pre school/nursery in one side of the old school and I'm sure they would like the opportunity of expanding into the other side & increasing their capacity.
As it is, with the amount of new homes being built, the children will need to go somewhere during their early years schooling.

This building has so much character and history. It would be a tragic mistake replacing it with another car park and housing estate

Shame on Cornwall Council. There has been no community or Parish council consultation on this much valued local historic asset. It would seem that the Council has allowed this building to fall into neglect in order to get rid of the as expensive building stock. It also seems that in Spring 2014 the covenant was changed so that the site became free to sale. The CBG has tried unsuccessfully to get this building listed as a good (and early) example of a Silvanus Trevail board school. We are pleased to support this campaign and would like to see the building sustainably re-used for community benefit.

It could be turned into something more beneficial than housing like a foster home or nursery etc. We dont need more unaffordable housing!

This was my old school growing up as a child and even back then the building was amazing because it was so old. We should be looking after buildings like this not destroying them! There aren't very many left!!

As is we need any more UN 'affordable housing! Convert the lovely old building in to something useful like a community hall or what ever that local people can use and socialise in!

Cornwall Council - guilty again of vandalism by neglect. Are the people responsible fit for purpose? I think not. And it's our money and resources being wasted!

It is an outrage that this beautiful building should be demolished.
