Save the former Carclaze Infant School building from demolition!

If housing is such an issue, why can't Cornwall Council convert this building for residential use? Failing that, if the Council feels the cost would be prohibitive within their budget, then why not sell the building to a property developer rather than demolish a feature which forms such an important part of Cornwall's architectural heritage?

Beautiful and useful building. Trust Cornwall Council to want to demolish more of our heritage.

This is a truly beautiful building which could be converted to housing with the guidance of one of the many clever architects in Cornwall.

All three of our children went to Carclaze and we still pass daily. Don't demolish, adapt and reuse.

As a distant relative of the architect Silvanus Trevail, and a member of the Silvanus Trevail Society, why demolish a local building of historic interest? Why not adapt the building for housing purposes?

As well as being a characterful building of the Victorian era, in the early 20th century it was the school attended by the great Cornish historian A.L.Rowse. It should be preserved for some community use, among other things perhaps having a museum devoted to him and his work.

i live two doors up from the school i have a job to get out of my drive now. with more houses and parking i would have too leave even earlier to get to where im going. it took me one hour and twenty minutes just to get to truro. so how long would it take me to get to twn. i say no no no keep the school.

These Silvanus Trevail buildings are part of Cornwall's rich heritage and should be preserved at all costs. Remember the St Ives Board School which the County Council was going to demolish in the 1980s to build a fire station and a police station (neither of which was actually needed). Thanks to the energy of the local community it was saved and a few years later became the health centre. It has gone from strength to strength and shows what can be done with a truly historic and well loved building. Stop removing the heart out of local communities and keep the building for all

In creating local new housing where there is a sound historical building present should always strive to create a development that incorporates the historical architectural values of such buildings. The area can therefore maintain its historical value and interest. There is great community benefit to refurbish old buildings to become a feature within new development. Here we have an opportunity to transform an existing historic feature to become part of modern day living.

This building should be saved for the local community.

I do not see why this building should be left to rot and then be destroyed. The council has an obligation to repair and bring on to the housing market derelict houses so why not refurbish this one as housing and make a bit of money while doing it

An important part of the Heritage of mid-Cornwall that should be preserved and used for cultural and/or community purposes

A classic Trevail School that was in good condition, at least until 2010. This one must be saved !

What an abysmal shame this would be if allowed to continue into decline. I drive past here regularly and have always admired this wonderful building. It would be shameful if the council were allowed to pull it down and replace with a modern monstrosity.

If this proposal goes ahead then it will be further evidence of this County Council disregarding the heritage and beauty of our historic County on the alter of sacrifice to the motor car and the short term saving of money with no proper regard for the future.
