Elaine is the heart of Herne Hill. She knows everyone and is a great asset. Her business is a wonderful local business and the building has historic interest. The community should not have to pay for incompetence of network rail

My MP Helen Hayes described Network Rail as terrible landlords amongst other things whilst she was being an official objector to their plans to refurbish 60 of their arches in Brixton more than a couple of years ago. The work has only just started and it has seriously declined our town. Planners at Lambeth council collude with these terrible landlords instead of opposing in line with the wishes of the people who elect them. Lambeth could oppose this. And should.

The Flower Lady is a really important part of our community. She is central to many events and initiatives around Herne Hill. Please look at alternative sites for the substation. This is a problem of Network Rail’s making, don’t punish the community for it.

Elaine has been such an incredible support to Herne Hill and it’s community. Our kids can never pass by without going in for chat and to feed the tortoise. Herne Hill would not be the same with their!

The Flower Lady is a friend, neighbour and community hub for Herne Hill. Elaine's shop and its unique location is key to both the success of her business and as a focal point for the wider community as a whole. An alternative location for Network Rails mistakes must be found.
