Please do not close the very needed after school program. Let’s not extend the gap among our students. What will our students do? Join the gangs and stay in the street? After school programs are the key to keep our youth safe and busy!!!!

Ok, what is the problem this (closing school programs) is solving? These campuses really ARE the centers of these neighborhoods. By de-funding them, you seek a short term gain, but create long term deficits. Deficits such as reduced HS graduation, nutrition, and attendance. If there is one stay-in-school program that has always shown a positive return, it is Marshall's LACER program. That and sports keeps our most challenging students engaged in academics.
You must have good reasons to close these programs. What are they?

Programs like these are crucial to both the individual students and the community as a whole. While I understand that budgets are always an issue, I hope you consider both the present and the future when taking action.
