These after school programs are crucial for the students who can't get home after school and provide much needed enrichment too.

This is the time that social unrest can be countered through education. These programs have been made problematic by issuing classes and then taking them away.

The LACER after school program at John Marshall HS is essential for the health and safety of students. It's especially necessary for students whose parents are at work all day since it provides food and healthy activities for young people. It offers so many opportunities for learning and access to additional resources students might need. Please restore funding for this excellent and essential program.

I have over 50 students who rely on these services everyday. Without the after school program many of them go hungry until the next day of school. Some of them have nowhere to go until hours after school has ended. This is one of the worst times to defund these programs. These children have been secluded and have been suffering mentally the because of the quarantine and the last thing they need is for school and it's programs to look completely different. Please don't defund these programs.

The LACER program at Marshall was allowing for students to have a safe space to work on homework or read. The library is not open until 6pm every day. In fact it would be good for the Lacer staff to move to the library and keep the library open until 6, with work/study students helping at the front desk.

I think LACER should be an option 9 and 10th graders. If the funds are tight. School police for high school is still needed.
