Coatbridge/Airdrie is full of alternative sites to have a development. Within a couple of mile radius is an old hospital grounds, several old school sites and also former industrial sites. This green belt field should remain exactly that to preserve the local area and to encourage wildlife to flourish and people to continue to use the outdoors to keep fit.

The field is part of the landscape and will become a concrete jungle if more houses are built.

No need to build on green belt land. There are plenty of brown field sites available including the former Drumpark School site.

Save the green belt... Coatbridge has enough available building land without spoiling the fields we use to play and exercise with our children and walk our animals

This is purely a means of the council bending rules to accommodate their budget and green belt land should be protected in these circumstances. A new housing estate will put additional pressure on nearby schools and reduce any viable areas that kids can play in other than busy streets

There is enough space in the centre of Coatbridge and around Bargeddie to build on without taking more green belt land from the perimeter of the town. Presumably this proposal is to fill the land owners pocket only as this development brings no benefit to the local area.

I just moved into my house on 16/10/15 and a field/park was a must for me and was a deciding factor of buying my new house as I have 2 dogs which have always had a daily run and PROPER exercise. I am appalled that there are plans to build on the land and if I knew this prior to buying the house I would not have gone through with the deal.

Terrible that the only piece of countryside is being considered.

It's terrible that this piece of land could be destroyed to make way for more houses and that our estate and access roads will become even busier as a result. I don't believe these houses are required here as there's plenty of other housing estates nearby. I wonder if Drumpellier Golf course have been informed of this also and hoe the members of the club would feel. I'd like to think they'd also be in support of this petition and help to save the field!

Terrible that greenbelt land next to a country park could be built upon. This is the area where the kids from the existing estate play safely with their parents and people can walk their dogs. There are many new housing developments in the area in Baillieston, Uddingston, Coatbridge and Airdrie. We don't need another one on green belt. Save the field.
