SAVE THE FIELD - PROTECT EDINBURGH’S GREENBELT!

The only limit to the recent spate of housing building is the greed of the developers. These companies make so much money that they can afford to have their workers work at weekends. Meanwhile, the whole environmental and social fabric of the area is being wrecked. The city bypass is already at saturation levels of traffic.

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the proposed development plans in our cherished community. Having spent my entire life in this area, I have witnessed firsthand the invaluable role it has played in shaping my upbringing and fostering a sense of belonging for countless residents. From the serene outdoor surroundings that provided the backdrop for my childhood memories to the vital community amenities like the local gym that have positively impacted thousands, this area holds a special place in the hearts of many. Whether it's walking my dog or enjoying a run through the fields, these natural spaces have been essential to our well-being and have kept us connected to nature.However, the proposed development poses a grave threat to the very essence of our community. The potential consequences, including pollution, damage to the delicate ecosystem, increased traffic congestion, inadequate facilities, and drainage issues, would undoubtedly transform this once-idyllic landscape into a nightmare for residents.I stand in solidarity with my fellow community members in opposing any further construction on this sacred land. We are united in our resolve to protect and preserve the beauty and sanctity of our surroundings. I implore decision-makers to heed our voices and refrain from sacrificing our precious natural heritage for short-term gains.In conclusion, I urge you to reconsider any plans that would jeopardize the integrity of our community and its environment. There is no need to build on the field. Use areas in central Edinburgh. There is no infrastructure in this area.

More housing, yet local infrastructure is not in place. More thought is needed on the impacts to services before building more new build housing.

There are too many new houses with no provisions for the increase in the people in regard to health and schools

Local transport and social services infrastructure is already broken. Giving up yet more Green Belt will degrade this part of the city even further for everyone. This application must be rejected.

The developers employ their usual tactic of multiple "amended" applications & appeals until they are granted what they wanted in the first place. Totally agree regarding loss of greenbelt for short-term profit. :((

There are absolutely no cogent reasons to build here beyond corporate greed. The negative impact at every level from wildlife, well-being and services to infrastructure, flooding and traffic congestion, to name some, is immeasurable. Stop this heinous proposal and avoid making an egregious error. This are does not want nor need more housing.

The current road structure cannot deal with any more traffic.There is not enough schools for families.A four storey high building would spoil my view towards the trees which is one of the reasons I bought the house in the plot I wanted a view.David Wilson Homes did not tell us they were building a four storey building across the road.It will undoubtedly affect the value of my property and again David Wilson homes didn’t tell us they were planning on building across the road when the sold us the house at a premium price.Not Happy!

No more housing. There is no Doctors! Not dentists! No room left in the primary or secondary schools! I have no doctor no dentist and my children have to go to private school to get any chance of a school! There are not enough roads, pavements. The council needs to fix this before granting any more housing!

I object to more of our green belt being eroded for profit.

Too much. This is a unique part of Edinburgh and your greed will take that away. There's not enough infrastructure and nobody wants it except for people who want to make money!

This location does not have enough facilities for more families to live here

Lack of infrastructure GP/ schools/ adequate roads make further development in This area unacceptable. It is also being built on green field… I thought our green belt was protected.

Area already congested. No new GPs, dentist and schools already at capacity. We need farmland to grow food!

Infrastructure and services cannot support another housing development in Frogston Road East.

This is a valuable area of farmed green belt, which is also used for recreation. Brown belt land should be used, where there is adequate infrastructure to cope with increased traffic, need for more public transport, schools, GP and dental surgeries, etc, which this area does not have.

Agree 100% with all comments already submitted. Leave the green belt alone , particularly in this area, which is becoming saturated with little boxes and inadequate essential services.
