The small businesses are the backbone of this country. WHY do people make it so hard for the people who want to try in life!

Should be encouraging small business owners! Not shutting them down

This is absolutely ridiculous, this lady is trying to run a small business which is a difficult job in itself and now the council are taking that away from her! I thought Maldon was all about local, small businesses.

Typical of mdc! The stall is a lovely addition to maldon town, produce is great, very tasty treats, lovely polite women. No harm in it at all!!!

To say this is 'out of keeping with the town' is ludicrous.
It's a lovely little stall with a lovely lady that runs it.
DO NOT CLOSE IT !!!

We don't have enough places to buy local home produce, where we get good fresh produce while at the same time helping someone with their livelihood.let this stall stay where it is wanted by the local community.

So typical of Maldon District Council, Bridget had large amounts of land to sell off so MDC could build thousands of cheap houses they would be kissing her feet!!!

Utterly disgusted at the complete morons at Maldon district council for shutting this lady down. A small independent business that was fantastic for the town and added real character to the town. Not only does she make great cakes and sweets but she is so kind and always has time to say hello and chat. I'm 100% confident she will be able to trade again and common sense will prevail. Having said that I am talking about Maldon district council *rolls eyes *

Far from detracting from the look of the area Bridget's stall is creating a better community feel on Fambridge Road. I never go past without seeing people stop for a chat with each other. This is what community is all about.
