The Youth Centre is VERY important to a lot of kids in the Town of Essex. It needs to remain open and a safe place for youth.

When local politicians allow themselves to become too far removed from the heart of their communities, they lose sight of the things that are truly needed. One can only hope that they wake up before something that is a blessing to so many is lost. This must not be allowed to happen.

I wonder what the town fathers are thinking by closing the Essex Youth Center. I have been hands on involved teaching and mentoring young people since 1963, both in the classroom and out. Children of all ages need a safe place to gather and share experiences with their friends. At a time in our society when criticism of our youth is rampant, why on earth would anyone consider taking away this safe environment? If it's money, find it because our children are the future. Every parent should be signing this petition, and shouting from the rooftops to keep the Essex Youth Center open! Speak up now so you won't have any regrets tomorrow!

The Town of Essex must support the work of the youth centre - through financial support and definitely in the interest of the young people who live here.
