This isn't just a huge part of my family's history, but of Nevada County. It's too much a part of who we all are. it is the connection my children and other children have to their history, our history

In addition to its historical importance, this state park is vital to the community. People have weddings, reunions, and other special events here. Families walk and picnic here. People hike, bike, ride, and run the trails. Many of the trails are stroller-friendly for families with small children. The museum is popular too and offers a unique perspective on the history of this area, particularly of how the mines influenced the development of California.

This site brings tourists to our town and shutting it down would decrease income for the whole community.

Everything about this park is an integral part of Grass Valley and should continue to be preserved by the State Parks system. I, personally, have spent many hours walking the gardens with close friends, biking on the well kept trails, and appreciating all of the nature and history that has been gathered in one place. If this park were to change, it would without a doubt affect the community and detract from the experience of the town.

It would be a shame to sell historical park. The visitor center at the mine is such a wonderful place to take guests to and I have been riding the trails there since the mid-eighties.

This historic mine and park is rooted in California goldrush and foothills history. To sell it would be criminal. It needs to remain an historic site open to the public.
