Why wouldn't the state want to make this a state park or some sort of historical tourist attraction?? Revenue for the state in this!

This site has connections to other historical sites all over the world. I will never forget visiting a Victorian mansion in Ireland and finding out it was built for the daughter of one of the owners when she married an Irishman!

The Empire Mine is a great way to learn first hand what the gold rush era was all about for children as well adults. It is important to our history and a huge part of Nevada County heritage.

I grew up running around these parts knowing that my hometown was the one of the major sites for California's gold rush. It's a major historical landmark that belongs to the people and shouldn't change. Please don't let it.

The land will most likely be sold off to investors and destroyed, turned into shopping and scouted out by walmart!

For my family and I this was the focal point of the gold rush era. Our visits there as home schoolers was truly like walk back in time. A living history book.

My brother and his family lived next to the mine. We spent a lot of time there. I just finished reading two California history books that mention the mine a lot. Please keep it a State Park if you can

Empire Mine State Park is an irreplaceable introduction to the Gold Rush area, and era; for visitors as well as residents exploring the heritage of their community. Changing the status of this jewel in the CA park system would be shortsighted.

This Historic property echos back to the roots of California's founding and to what helped make our state known the world over. Please do not toss this great California landmark to the wayside.
I Love this place.
