The Empire Mine is a valuable resource for teaching people about the Gold Rush era and both California and U.S. History. Please do all you can to keep the Empire Mine open as a State Park.

Why is it that our government is constantly trying to remove parts of history by selling them which would allow this placed to be chnaged instead of being protected. History is constantly changing. Reminders of the past need to be protected, so that generations to come may to learn of the importance of how this country and state were influenced by the gold rush.

Not only is this historic site very much a part of California history, it was a subject in Wallace Stegner's Pulitzer Prize winning Novel, Angle of Repose.

i have found this park to be a real gem for many years. The history it has can not be replaced. Please reconsider selling the property. Once lost, it wll be gone forever. The gold rush history of California shoud be preserved for all future generations.

My familyiisnce the 1800'e have intimately been involved with Grass Valley / Nevada city mines and the narrow guage RR between Nevada City and Grass valley.
This is a must for saving
