This place is so amazing as has so much to offer. I hold it close because I had my wedding there but its such a lovely place I can't imagine it being gone.

State Parks should consider moving the State Mining Museum to Grass Valley. It was another park on the closure list not long ago. Instead of closing down Empire, why not enhance it and create an much improve entity - including the underground tour. It is important that this park be saved. The gold from this mine helped support the formation of California, the North winning the Civil War, and much more. And who bought the gold? The US Government bought it and it was the gold was the basis for US currency until the 1970's.

A small but valuable park : In the GOLD country, in the GOLDen State, with a great mine exhibit. Empire may not be where GOLD was "discovered" it the state, but it is an asset to the community and educational as well as beautiful.
