Women with all their faculties aren't safe in many mixed communities...How safe would Alzheimers patients be?!?!?!

I work in a seniors facility and many of them have Dementia. Any changes would have detrimental effect on these patients. They need stability and familiar. I ask that you keep this ward as is in the best interest of these ladies.

Patients affected with dementia deserve to live in dignity. No one ishould be subject to conditions that will endanger their life or be put in a position to be subject to harm. Those with Dementia lives matters

This is wrong, as it is a known fact that the more you disturb them, the more they get confused. Let them be !!!!!

It seems that it is never about what is best for the patient. It's all about the money. How sad that makes me.

These ladies with dementia will be very badly affected & upset by such a huge change in their lives & it's highly likely they would rapidly deteriorate.

People who live with dementia need continuity, to move these ladies would be detrimental to their health!

Once again dementia patients are being badly treated, would they dare do this to any other patients who have a neurological illness.

Please don't split these poor ladies up. My husband has Alzheimers and I know what it would do to him. They are people not things at the end of the day. These ladies need peace of mind as do their families.

I have a family member in this ward closing it down would cause her mJor distress and confusion and no doubt set her back from all the great progress she has been making.

Read any literature or listen to any radio or TV programme about dementia and the continuity of care for any one suffering from this cruel condition is of vital importance, as is a safe, stable and familiar environment. The suggested moving of the ladies of Pentland Ward in to mixed wards within the community will cause a great deal of unnecessary upset and distress to both the ladies and their families/carers. Who on earth thought that this was a ‘good’ idea. Do they have a mother, grandmother, sister or aunt with dementia? KEEP THIS WARD OPEN !!!

I think this is a disgrace and the ladies should not be moved alternative accommodation should be found for the men, these are the people who should be re-housed

We have a moral obligation to secure single gender facilities for these ladies; they do not have their own voice so we need to shout very loudly!
