Please don't close the ward. There should be more single sex wards for dementia patients!

an absolute disgrace, i work in a care of the elderly ward and continuity of care and environment are essential in the well being of my patients. However, in the last 10 months our patients also have had 2 moves due to hospital/ward closures. Cmon NHS up your game, its a disgrace, makes you fear the prospect of growing old and infirm!

So easy to make decisions based on cost (which this unfoubtedly is) but would those in power take the same decision if their family was being affected....I THINK NOT

I think it is not only unfair but totally outrageous that these elderly, frail ladies, some who are bed ridden are being forced out of a ward which is familiar to them and where they are settled, to allow the NHS to move the men from Myreside ward in. These men are ambulent and can go outside and walk in the fresh air, around the grounds. Some of the elderly ladies in Pentland ward do not have that luxury, they do however have a beautiful view from their windows, where they can look out at the gardens, watch the variety of wildlife and nature, which they would lose if they are moved. Please pass this on and help to get as many signatures as possible to save this ward for the ladies.

Please reconsider this decision, change will not help these ladies condition. I understand the quality of care is excellent. Do not let them close more NHS facilities.

It's hard enough for them without this massive proposed change in their lifestyle. Seriously...think again!

Having had a mum with Alzheimer's I know that moving the elderly ladies will be very unsettling for them. Also, to mix the ladies with the opposite sex is not a good idea as sometimes, with Alzheimer's, inhibitions disappear and this could be a rescipe for disaster.

Mixed wards are shameful and not fit for purpose! Everybody deserves dignity.

Keep the ladies in the home they know and with the faces they recognize.

The most important fact known about this terrible disease is that these patients need continuity and not changes which frighten and upset them
