These markets are an important part of Dublin's Cultural Identity and attract business from locals and tourists for the local community. Giving these sites over to to Developers is like giving a piece of Dublin's heart away.

Over the years, the markets and the co-up have become really lively, warm and positive gathering places for so many people in the community. They are a unique and valuable feature of Newmarket Square. Now they'll be pushed out or squeezed into 1/7 of their current space?? Please don't sterilise the square by doing this!

Tradition and modernidation can both go hand in hand. It would do the council better to clean up central Dublin which iis a total mess ( look at what the Luas has left in College Green. Ie eouldnt happen elsewhere. What about the state of Meath and Thomas Street It is about time Dubliner got more of a say in what goes on in their city. Its also time we got the opportunity to vote in our own Mayor who might take things seriously.

FFS! I've had it with this city and its planners allowing all culture and individuality be eroded away for the sake of capitalism! I've had it!!!!!!! There will be nothing left soon except some completely generic offices and a million costa/starbucks and why would anyone want to live here then!
